BA 6866 Drill and Countersink Surface Protection & Paint Masking Tape
BA 6866 is a unique, soft, flexible PVC tape with an aggressive but clean removal natural rubber adhesive. Gold or clear in color, this tape will remove from a variety of production surfaces – even under extreme temperature, UV exposure, and direct chemical contact. BA 6866 is superior for general surface protection, painting and coating applications, and drill and countersink protection. The primary advantage of the BA 6866 clear tape is that the production surface is visible through the tape, allowing for accurate identification of drill/countersink locations for defect reduction. BA 6866 is also ideal for fineline masking if a very sharp paint edge is required, especially on painted or unpainted plastic parts and for multi-color painting.

BA 7512 is a white semi-translucent heavyweight paper with a high tack rubber adhesive. Designed for clean removal from most production surfaces and medium duty abrasion protection of coatings and metal surfaces.

BA 951 is used in applications requiring a heavy backed removable protective film that does not leave residue after a long attachment time. This material has a stiff backing that makes application easier. BA 951 has a quick initial bond and consistent adhesion. It does not leave adhesive residue after long dwells or moderate heat exposure. BA951 will remain removable even after long periods of time.

Bron Template™ Features:
The Bron Template™ is a new Adhesive Mylar Technology that greatly improves Aerostructure assembly operations.
Digital Catia** CAD graphics are precision-printed onto the Bron Template™ film at full-scale (1 : 1) – then verified to aerospace industry “mylar” tolerances of +/- .020” over any 10” interval up to 120” x 50”. Precision tolerances of less than +/-.005” are possible within areas up to 30” x 30” square.Spec-approved for use on Boeing aerostructures, assembly mechanics drill and countersink fastener holes and install rivets and bolts while the Bron Template™ is installed on the workpiece. Special assembly and installation instructions can be printed onto the Bron Template,™ providing the assembly mechanic all the necessary information to do his or her job where the work is being done. The adhesive system is specially formulated and approved for use on Boeing clad and bare aluminum surfaces, primer and TPC-coated surfaces.*
The Bron Template™ puts Zero Defects within reach. The Bron Template™ is like having the engineering blueprint on the part. Defines fastener locations as well as the size and type of fasteners to install.
In 2013, zero defects were reported at a major Boeing supplier using Bron Template™ technology.
