Description
ZOTEK® F is high performance closed cell, cross-linked fluoro-polymer foam based on fluoride. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride). ZOTEK® F foams are inherently flame-retardant, releasing very little heat and only small quantities of smoke during combustion. They are biologically inert.
ZOTEK® F foams can be processed using a wide variety of conventional conversion methods. These techniques include die-cutting, water jet cutting, sawing, laminating, and welding into continuous rolls. They can also be thermoformed into complex single component structures providing benefits over multi-layer foam systems, such as weight and cost reduction.

ZOTEK® F OSU XR Extra-Rigid Lightweight
ZOTEK® F OSU XR is an extra-rigid, lightweight closed cell cross linked foam produced from high grade PVDF polymer. Developed to help reduce the carbon footprint of air travel, ZOTEK® F OSU XR promises exceptional weight savings compared with traditional choices. ZOTEK® F OSU XR extends the weight-saving benefits of this extraordinary material to applications such as First and Premium class seat pods, covered decorative and non-decorative panels, as well as armrests, consoles, tray tables and footwells.
Grades of ZOTEK® F OSU can be laminated together, or with decorative fabrics, leathers and foils in a one-shot process, creating a single material that is rigid on one side and soft and flexible on the other. Form it into complex shapes and curves to bring individuality and extra comfort to the passenger experience – the design possibilities are limitless.
Interiors applications include ECS ducting, soft touch trim, business class seating, composites, seats, galleys, close outs, seat pod interiors, stowage lockers, tray tables, armrests and insulation.
A wide range of Space applications includes packaging for space shuttle pods and ISS. ZOTEK F is a closed cell PVDF and an optimal material for spacecraft interiors. It is also NASA-approved for packaging and flight as well as for use on the International Space Station.
ZOTEK® F features extensively in the first commercial spacecraft in insulation, environmental control systems and throughout the interior.
Besides weight and safety considerations, uncover the secrets, from which passengers will experience up to six times normal gravity during descent and zero gravity in space, while minimizing the VOC content of the interior as a whole.
Grades for niche applications range from static dissipative materials for sensitive electronics to general purpose materials for use in seals, toolbox inserts and buoyancy aids.
Flammability Performance meets stringent aviation interior flammability requirements. ZOTEK® F also meets BMS 8-371D & AIMS04-14-009.
Its OSU grades meet FAR 25.853(d) and exhibit exceptionally low heat release.
