White conductive polyurethane coating for launcher antistatic protection
MAP® AQ STATIC is a low outgassing white conductive water-based coating developed for use on launchers Ariane 6, Ariane 5, Vega and NURI (also called KSLV-II). The coating provides superior thermal protection with excellent thermo-optical properties, a very stable electrical conductivity as a semi conductive layer and a good adhesion on cork and foam, composites and metallic substrates. This coating also provides a very high resistance to typical launch pad environment (Damp heat, temperature, UV, salt spray…) and on launch environment (To avoid any electrical surface discharge due to air friction).
APPLICATIONS
MAP® AQ STATIC is suitable to avoid any launcher heat on the launch pad and to avoid any electrical surface discharge due to air friction. This coating finds in particular an application on several types of substrates such as:
- CFRP
- NORCOAT HPK
- Cryosof 2
- H920A
- Cork P50
as well as on:
- Aluminium 7075T0
- Glass
Due to its exposure to a variety of mechanical, thermal and electromagnetically environments, MAP. AQ STATIC was tested under short and long lasting ageing tests (See Applicable Documents/References):
Short lasting ageing tests: Cold exposure, dry heat, Electrical measurement vs temperature, vacuum test, salt spray test, thermal shock, streaming test, paint repairing.
Long lasting ageing tests: Damp heat test, natural ageing in Guyana.
MAP. AQ STATIC is developed on specific technology to avoid any risk of inhibition and to limit the risk on human health and to reduce the environment impact.
